    Function- To honor Sor Juana's importance during the pre-revolutionary period.
    Content- She is seen at her desk in her personal library.
    Context- Sor juana was seen as the first feminist of the Americas.
    Tradition- This piece is dedicated to someone much like the reliquary of Sainte-foy.
    Interpretation- The rosary she is holding shows her level of wealth.
    Artistic intent- The artists attention to detail of her library, shows the nuns intellectual legacy she has.
    Audience response- Her legacy lives on amongst the Criollo.

    Context: she was a sister of the Jeromite order in New Spain
    Change: Cabrera's portrait differs from other nun portraits because Sor Juana is portrayed as assertive and an intellectual surrounded by knowledge.
    Interpretation:The red curtains behind her were common in elite portraits.
    Artistic Intent: the artist portrayed her in a way that gave tribute to both her intellect and her religious work
    Audience Response: painted after she died, was based off of other portraits of her.
