    Form- Oil paint
Function- To show the moment Jesus asked St. Matthew to follow him.
Content- Jesus brings the dramatic lighting into the room
    Context- The artist is Caravaggio
Tradition-This piece is similar to the Sistine Chapel, because of the position that Jesus' hand is in, it relates the the painting of God and Adam.
Interpretation- It is not certain as to which man is actual Matthew.
Artistic intent- The attention of the piece is drawn to Levi, the tax-collecter, because of the lighting and the movement of the artwork.
Audience response- This artwork gave the artist recognition for his strong use of naturalism.
