    Function- A portrait of a husband and wife
    Content- There is Little dog in front of the two figures
    Context- Made by Jan van Eyck
    Tradition- In this period, there is a great deal of importance put on symbolism, and there are a great deal of symbols present in this painting.
    Interpretation- The dog symbolizes fidelity
    Artistic intent- The artist makes his presence known in this painting by signing his name by saying "Van Eyck was here".
    Audience response-There are many different theories as to what is actually occurring in this painting.
