    Form-oil
Function- An altar piece at a church
Content- Christ is being lowered from the cross
    Context- Located in florence, italy.
Change- The painting is in the early mannerist style, while the church itself is in the early renaissance style
Interpretation- There are no apparent symbols in these pieces, instead there is just figures.
Artistic intent- There is no place for your eye to rest, there is a great deal of movement in the piece.
Audience response- This piece is considered my many people to be Pontormo's greatest surviving artwork.
