Mckenna Form- The main pyramid is surrounded by four corner towers. Function- It is dedicated to the God Vishnu. Content- Most surfaces of this building are carved and decorated. Context- This building was built by Khmer King Suryavarman the second. Tradition- The corbelled roofs were influenced by the Indian use of corbelled vaulting. Interpretation- May of been used as the king's Mausoleum. Artistic Intent- The mountain-like towers represent the five peaks of Mount Meru, a sacred Mountain. Audience response- The king identified himself with the God of the temple.
