    Form- Ink and tempera
Function- Used to explain the bible in a moral way
Content-There are two columns of four painted scenes.
Context- The period/style is Gothic Europe
Tradition- Use of gold is similar to that of Islamic pieces such as the court of Gayumars and folio of the Qur'an.
Interpretation- The king and queen wear a crown with the fleur-de-lys which symbolizes the French monarchs religious, political, and dynastic right to rule.
Artistic intent- The old testament and new testaments are paired to complement one another.
Audience response- It is likely that these were commissioned by Queen Blanche of Castile.
