    Form- Painted marble
    Function-It was used as a grave marker for a woman.
    Content- A woman is inspecting a piece of jewelry handed to her from the standing figure.
    Context- Put up in the Dipylon cemetery in Athens.
    Artistic intent- Used to commemorate the death of Hegeso, it identifies her, and says who her father is.
    Change- Ancient greeks used Kraters as grave markers, but classical greeks used stelae as grave markers.

    Function: To commemorate the death of Hegeso
    Content: An identifying inscription that identifies Hegeso and her father
    Context: Piece is attributed to sculptor Kallimachos
    Tradition/Change: Used contrapposto in the standing figure which is a change from how Archaic sculptures were depicted.
    Interpretation: The piece of jewelry being handed to Hegeso may have been her dowry.

    interpretation- some believe this is a domestic scene while others believe that it is mourning.
