  1. Form- Marble
    Function- Built to symbolize the Greek victory over the Persians in the battle of marathon.
    Content- Has 4 columns in the front and 4 in the back.
    Context- Originally found in Athens, Greece.
    Artistic intent- Was made to symbolize Athena's wisdom and military strength.
    Tradition/Change- When the Turks ruled Greece they turned this temple into a defensive Bastion, which is why its in such good condition.

  3. Form: is 11 feet tall from the stylobate to the apex of its pediment
    Function: To worship the goddess of victory, Nike
    Content:many images of victory on the temple
    Context: Kallikrates was the architect
    tradition/change: While normal Ionic proportions were 9:1, this temple was 7:1
    Interpretation: The statue contained within the temple had no wings, which is a characteristic Nike usually had. This is thought to be because without wings,Athena Nike could never leave Athens
