    Function-Is a place of worship
    Content- Huge peirs support the dome.
    Context- Late Islamic period/style
    Change- Open airy feel contrasted with other mosques that have partitioned interiors.
    Interpretation- The muezzin platform has shapes such as a square, circle, and octagon to represent the earthly and heavenly spheres.
    Intent- Inspired by the Hagia Sophia, the architect built this to show that he could surpass the architectural feats of christian architecture.
    Audience response- One of the Madrasas used to be used as a college for people to study the traditions of the prophet Muhammad.

    Change/Tradition: Placement of the muezzin's platform under the center of the dome is not traditional
    Interpretation: The plan features geometric clarity and precise numerical ratios
    Intent:The mosque was meant to dominate the domestic landscape of Edirne
    Audience Response:The passing Europeans from Europe to Asia were marveled at the magnificence of the mosque
