Context:Originally located in Athens, Greece Artistic Intent: The purpose for the building of the agora was to create an open place for assembly and was a designated area where free-born citizens could gather. Audience Response: The people of Athens came to trade and sell goods.

Audience response- The Agora attracted many Greek philosophers such as Socrates and Plato
